My Bio

Hello there, and welcome! My name is Amanda, and I am a performer and teacher currently living in Chicago, IL.

I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was deeply immersed in the lively arts scene there from a young age. Grand Rapids theatre gave me discipline, passion, and ambition, and it carried me all the way to Salt Lake City where I received my BFA in Theatre from the University of Utah in 2018. While I was a student I had several opportunities to work in the professional theatre sector, and left Utah eligible to join Actors Equity Association. During my time in college I found a love of teaching and a passion for telling new stories, and my friends and I created our school’s first student-created projects organization to do just that.

I spent a few years in New York City until mid-pandemic, when it felt like the right time to explore a new place and find a new home. I am so excited to be back in the midwest as a resident of Chicago, and so grateful for the community of diverse theatre makers I now have access to. I am eager to continue mounting my own work, as well as finding my place in the theater’s here and beyond that share my values and goals as an artist. My favorite dream is the one where I make a career out of singing for intimate crowds in cabaret halls and on cruises, but in the meantime I am excited for whatever opportunities the world may have in store.
